About Us
The Green Man is an historic pub
located in the middle of Royston, 25 miles north of Hertford
and 15 miles south of Cambridge. We are situated on the A10,
in the middle of the one way system, right opposite the market
square. The entrance to our car park is opposite the bus lay-by
and taxi rank, although there is also ample public parking to
the front and rear of the pub.
The
Green Man has an almost Mediterranean feel
about it, with a village pub atmosphere, despite being in the
town centre. There is an enclosed sun-trap patio and garden
to the rear, next to the small car park, including a water feature,
flower tubs, shrubs and seating for up to 100 people. The Green Man is also the only
pub in Royston to have a dedicated petanque piste.
Inside,
the pub has a warm, friendly atmosphere with a raised, carpeted lounge area with comfy leather furniture. There is a 42 inch LCD TV mounted on the wall (for major sporting events) and also access to the garden and car park.
At the other end of the pub you will find the pool table, dart board, quiz and gaming machines, with two wall mounted TVs for the really big events.
In common with all pubs in the UK, The Green Man is strictly no smoking throughout, although smokers are well catered for with seating provided under a large covered area in the garden (heated in the winter). Although the pub is open all day everyday, we operate a strict over 18's policy in the evening, with service until midnight Monday to Thursday and until 1.00am on Friday and Saturday.
